Mid-Patrol update

Gee, I hope I can say "Mid-Patrol" on here. If I can't, I'll change it. Anyway, so here I am with an update on what we've been doing on our trip for the past couple of weeks. Scroll down, there are a few new posts. I know you don't want to miss a thing! :) I'll update more frequently now that I'm back at my parents' house in Sequim. Love to you all!!

A Baby Party For the Newest Camagna!

We just got back from Margaret's baby party in San Jose. I say "Baby Party" because she just wanted a party where people came and had a good time. She wanted it co-ed and no "Whoever Gets the Diaper with the Melted Snickers Bar in it Wins!" type games. It was super fun, and just about everyone she knows showed up, and believe me...that's a lot of people. My sister is the type of person who can walk into a room of strangers and have them all be her best friends in 5 minutes. :) The kids had a blast playing in the yard and with all of the kids, but most of all...the SUNSHINE!!! I wore cute capris and flip-flops!!! Nate had on shorts and Joanna wore her Easter dress WITHOUT the sweater!! Uncle Alan and Aunt Jill and Uncle Dan were there as well as Lars' family. It was a really great day! We are all really excited to meet the newest member of our family! Joanna and Nate kept fighting over her..."She's MY cousin! No, she's MY cousin!!" and Nate kept pointing to Margaret's belly and saying "My cousin in in there!" It was really cute. Nate also didn't want to say goodbye to his Auntie..."My not go on an airplane. My go in your car with you, Auntie." He kept hugging her and wouldn't let her go. It was so sweet. Anyway, that was our weekend trip to Sunny California!

A Trip to Papa David's Work

After one of our many shopping excursions, Mari and the kids and I dropped by the shop David works at in Tacoma. It sells John Deer tractors and mowers. David let the kids climb on any tractor/mower they wanted and check them up close and personal. He turned one on and let the kids move the little dumper up and down. Nate was in heaven. He didn't want to leave. We had to drag him out kicking and screaming, basically, but it was a real treat.

My childhood fantasy birthday

So, I turned 32 on April 4th. The celebration started with a birthday trip to the movies in Gig Harbor with Jake's mom, brother Chuck and the kids. We went to see "Horton Hears a Who" which ended up being much better than I thought it was going to be. It was really silly and cute. Mari got us each a large popcorn and a soda...which was a good thing, because Nate dropped his popcorn 5 minutes into the movie. Believe me, there was plenty of extra popcorn to go around. :) Then we topped it off with my favorite pizza of all times, Round Table Maui Zowee. It was a good day.

My mom and dad bought tickets to the ballet in Seattle as my birthday gift. So, the Saturday after my birthday my mom drove down to Gig Harbor and picked Joanna and I up and took us over to the city for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Pacific Northwest Ballet. The music was amazing and the ballet was wonderful, too. Now, I read quite a bit of Shakespeare in the past, but for some reason "Midsummer" was not one of them. The story was coreographed to some Mendelssohn music and was funny and very entertaining. Joanna LOVED it, of course. We ate at Cheesecake Factory before the show, too, which was delicious! The whole day was an amazing treat! I told someone...I forget who...that with "Horton Hears a Who", pizza and the ballet, I felt like I had turned 5 all over again! It was just what this 32-year-old needed.
