Ode to a Daddy

Well, yesterday was a sad day for us. Jake left for a two-month patrol. We miss him already...it's never easy to say goodbye. Last night Joanna was sad that her Daddy wasn't there to sing her "Twinkle-Twinkle" like he does every night. I told her that we would just have to do something fun EVERY DAY until he's back. We're leaving this coming weekend for Washington. Thank goodness...I need a break. Joanna and I thought of all the fun things we were going to do while we are down there. Here are the top 10 things we came up with:

1. Eat strawberries every day

2. Go to Costco

3. Eat at Red Robin

4. Buy some new spring/summer clothes

5. Help grandmas and papas with their yard/garden work.

6. Play with Tony. (David and Mari's dog)

7. Go to Auntie's baby party!

8. Go to Target

9. See Uncle Chuck, Uncle Don, Great-Grandma Hope and all the family in Hermiston!

10. Feed the ducks at the park by Papa Carl's house. (I think that's aginst the rules now, but we can still go see the ducks.)

I'm going to add in my own personal #11 and say that eating Mexican food is going to be great, too.

Anyway, we have lots of fun plans to stay busy and make the time fly by until Jake will be home again. We love you, and miss you so much!! (Just in case he can see this at some point on his trip.) xoxo
